Quick pro-cricket on Despatch
tonight this is a braai and tomorrow the wickets will blow
at the annual Williams Hunt / High School Despatch Pro 20 cricket tournament.
A total of 10 schools' 1st cricket teams will take over the
town's cricket fields over the next two days.
Matches are played at the high school's main field, Despatch
Village Fields, Fields of the Sonop Primary Schools, Frans Conradie and
Uitenhage at HTS Daniel Pienaar.
The participating schools include Despatch High School, Port
Rex, Marlow, Border, Gill, Lilyfontein, Milnerton, THS Daniel Pienaar, Nico
Malan and Framesby.
"On Despatch High School, as well as all participating
schools, we would like to invite cricket supporters as well as residents of
Despatch and Uitenhage to support the matches," says Theo Smit, organizer
of the Williams Hunt / High School Despatch Pro 20 Cricket Tournament.
Program highlights
Thursday : Matches start today 11:00 and the last matches of
the day begin at 14:30.
Friday : Matches start at 08:00. After the day's 12 matches,
the coaches of the participating schools pack each other for entertainment in a
Pro-20 game.
Saturday : Matches start at 08:00 with semi-finals at 11:30
and final match at 15:00 on the village field.
